AI search optimization (GEO)

Get found in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews

Customers increasingly ask AI assistants instead of searching. Brewster AI checks whether those assistants can read, trust and cite your website, then writes the fixes that make you easier to recommend.

Check my AI visibility

1. Can AI read your site?

We test 11 AI crawlers against your robots.txt and flag pages whose content only appears after JavaScript runs.

2. Can AI understand it?

We check structured data (Organization, LocalBusiness, Product, FAQ), entity details and llms.txt, the signals AI tools use to know who you are.

3. Does AI recommend you?

The AI answer check runs real customer questions and tracks whether you're mentioned or cited, and who is instead.

Search bots can cite you in answers. Training bots collect content for future models, so blocking them is a business decision.

FAQ

AI search optimization FAQ

What is AI search optimization (GEO)?

AI search optimization, also called generative engine optimization (GEO) or answer engine optimization (AEO), is making your website easy for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Google AI Overviews to read, understand and cite when they answer questions.

How do I know if AI crawlers can access my site?

Brewster AI reads your robots.txt and checks 11 AI user agents, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended. It separates search bots, which can cite you in answers, from training bots, so you can make an informed choice.

What is llms.txt and do I need one?

llms.txt is a proposed standard: a plain-text file at /llms.txt that summarises your business and links to your key pages, so AI tools can understand your site quickly. Brewster AI checks whether you have one and can write it for you from your crawl.

Why does JavaScript matter for AI search?

Most AI crawlers do not run JavaScript. If your content only appears after scripts run (common with some React or Vue sites), AI tools see an empty page. Brewster AI flags those pages and explains how to fix them with server-side rendering or pre-rendering.

Can Brewster AI tell me if ChatGPT recommends my business?

The AI answer check on the Pro and Agency plans runs the questions your customers ask through Google's AI with live search, and shows whether your brand is mentioned or cited, at what position, and which competitor sites are cited instead.
